Abilities: Nothing super human, but he's something of a criminal genius.
Personality:"A liar, a thief, and utterly without conscience. But he'll also keep to any deal you strike with him." (Inej Ghafa) Kaz is ruthless and bloodthirsty and he came by the nickname 'Dirty Hands' honestly as there isn't a job he won't take, no matter how despicable or violent. Kaz is manipulative and conniving and makes sure to always be the person in control of the situation. For this reason, he's had to be quick-witted and he always has a trick up his sleeve. He is often underestimated because he has to use a cane, so he's made his cane into a weapon. That sums up any personality he has: embrace what others see as your flaws and turn them into strengths to use as weapons against your enemies.
The only weakness he could not turn into a strength was the utter skin-crawling revulsion he felt every time he could feel bare skin touch his. The only way he could function was by wearing gloves so that every part of his skin would be covered either by impeccably tailored clothes or by calf-skin gloves. Since he couldn't change it he's done his best to encourage the rumors around them; "Brekker's hands are scarred, Brekker's hands are permanently covered in blood. Brekker's got claws instead of fingers." etc. Kaz let the rumors become part of the myth he cloaks himself in. The unfortunate failing of this 'strength' was that Kaz can not cope with the random bare skin to skin touch of a hug or a handshake. He does his best to smother any emotion he has, but when he does feel a strong emotion, he has difficulty expressing it. Kaz is always calm and collected, never letting people see what he’s really thinking. When he becomes particularly enraged, though, he becomes even more ruthless. An example of this is when he pulled out Oomen’s eyeball in Six of Crows after Oomen gave Inej a nearly fatal knife wound. He also holds a penchant for wrath and revenge; as he has sworn to avenge his deceased brother Jordie. He seems to have a soft side only when he is around Inej, and towards the end of Six of Crows, begins to realize that he has genuine feelings for her. He also thinks of Jesper as a brother, in a way, because of his recklessness. Once, he even accidentally called Jesper Jordie. In the end, there is a deep part of Kaz that sees himself as "broken" and as the broken bone in his leg "no part of him healed right"

When Kaz woke up he was in some type of forest clearing, which decidedly was not where he'd gone to sleep in his room at the Slat. But as he had woken in a different place, he also could feel a growing dread; the impetus to run and run now. But it wasn't until the baying of hounds that he was on his feet and starting to run. His gait was hitching and though he had to use a cane, he moved faster than expected. He saw the ring wall of a castle in the general direction he was running and though that initial impetus for running faded, his own fear of what would happen once those hounds caught him was now just as strong. A fear that was realized about 200 feet from the castle wall when he felt strong jaws clamp onto his calf. Kaz yelled in pain as he fell, then outright screamed when the rest of the pack fell on him and tore him apart.
When Kaz next woke he was surprised to be alive. He sat up in wonder that he did not hurt. But on further investigation he found himself to still be covered in blood seemingly without wounds to have come from. That more than anything was unnerving, He groped for where he dropped it, but his cane was gone. Still, he was about 200 feet from the castle ring wall so without his cane he walked with a halting gait into the castle proper.

[There's a lot of spinning and the view briefly a bathhouse floor. After the spinning stopped the camera showed a boy, no older than a teenager, was glaring at the camera and looking wet haired. His voice had a rocksalt rasp to it when he did speak;]
I can't tell if this is supposed to be some attempt at a joke, a hallucination or shared delusion but I'm already steamed about being taken from my streets.
I also want my cane back. So the podge that does have it, just know I'll find it and eventually I'll get it back, regardless. But if you'll actually give it back before I do, then I won't use it to break your legs.
